Simplified Applications for Determining Residency Status Pursuant to the ZDoh-2

New, simplified versions of the applications for determining residency status have been published: Application for Determining Residency Status Pursuant to the ZDoh-2 – Arrival to the Republic of Slovenia, and Application for Determining Residency Status Pursuant to the ZDoh-2 – Departure from Republic of Slovenia.

The applications, intended for individuals, are available under the International Taxation section, in the Services and Forms subsection. These new forms replace the older, more extensive versions and represent a step toward a more user-friendly, transparent, and simplified user experience. Instructions for completion and information notices for taxpayers arriving in or departing from Slovenia are also available – in Slovenian, English, Italian, and Hungarian.

The forms are designed to assist taxpayers in formally regulating their residency status and support the tax authority in assessing residency. However, applications may still be submitted in another format (e.g. a written statement including relevant facts and supporting documentation).

In parallel, new software support for processing these applications and issuing decisions is under development. This includes plans to integrate the forms into the eDavki online system, which will allow taxpayers to submit applications electronically. Preparations and technical requirement alignments are currently underway, with more information on the implementation timeline expected in the coming months.
