General
The EORI system (Economic Operator Registration and Identification System) is established in order to facilitate the registration of economic operators stipulated in Article 9 of the Union Customs Code.
An EORI number means an identification number, unique in the customs territory of the European Union, assigned by a customs authority to an economic operator or to another person in order to register him for customs purposes.
The EORI number is used by economic operators in all communications with EU customs authorities when an identifier is required, for example, when completing customs declarations.
The authority responsible for registering and assigning the EORI number for economic operators not established in the EU is the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia, Kranj Financial Office ( eori.fu(at)gov.si ).
