Restrictive measures are restrictions and obligations towards the states, territorial entities, movements, international organisations and persons aimed at establishing or preserving the international peace and security, respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms, developing and consolidating democracy and the rule of law and achieving other goals according to international law. They are provided for in legal instruments of the United Nations Organisation, the European Union or the European Community and other international organisations binding on the Republic of Slovenia. Moreover, restrictive measures are also restrictions or obligations introduced in a different manner by the Republic of Slovenia according to international law or the law of the European Union.
